Health benefits of chlorella
Chlorella is a green freshwater algae. It is a genus of microalgae with unique health benefits. It is a highly effective detoxifying agent: it absorbs heavy metals such as mercury, led, cadmium and metalloids such as arsenic. Our body does not digest the Chlorella fibers so our system gets rid of these toxins in a natural way.
Chlorella contains 50 to 60% protein, a wide range of antioxidants, iron, vitamin C and some other vitamins and minerals like magnesium, potassium, calcium, zinc, copper, folic acid and other B vitamins. Like other algae, it also contains omega
2. Detoxifying power
Studies indicate that chlorella is effective at helping remove heavy metals and other harmful compounds from the body
Heavy metals like cadmium and lead can be toxic in large amounts. While it’s rare for people to have dangerous levels of heavy metals in their system, people can get exposed to heavy metals through pollution. We are commonly exposed to a lot of pollutants in our environment (pesticides, heavy metals, dioxins) negatively impacting our quality of life.
Chlorella, has been found to weaken the heavy metal toxicity of the liver, brain and kidneys.
Furthermore, chlorella has been shown to help lower the amount of other harmful chemicals that are sometimes found in food. One of these is dioxin, a hormone disruptor that can contaminate animals in the food supply.
Based on this evidence, we can conclude that chlorella assists your body in it’s natural ability to clear toxins.
3. Immune booster
Your immune system helps keep you healthy by fighting off infections.
It’s a complex system made up of multiple mechanisms and cells that get into gear when an invader enters your body. Chlorella has been found to enhance the immune response in both animal and human studies.
Chlorella contains several compounds that are considered antioxidants, including chlorophyll, vitamin C, beta-carotene, lycopene and lutein.
These antioxidants can help fight many chronic diseases.
Some of these antioxidants seem to reduce the production of advanced glycation end products, which drive many of the complications of diabetes Also, a human study showed chlorella supplements increased antioxidant levels in chronic cigarette smokers, a population at a higher risk of oxidative damage.
4. Assists with blood pressure control
Chlorella supplements could help promote heart and kidney health, which is essential for normal blood pressure. One study with people having mild high blood pressure were taking four grams of chlorella daily for 12 weeks. At the end, they had lower blood pressure readings than participants who took the placebo.
One theory to explain this is that some of chlorella’s nutrients, including arginine, potassium, calcium and omega-3s, help protect arteries from hardening.
6. Chlorella could improve endurance
Researchers gave a group of people six grams of chlorella or a placebo daily for four weeks.
At the end of the study, the chlorella group showed a significantly improved ability to saturate their lungs with oxygen, which is a measure of endurance. The placebo group did not show any changes in endurance.
This effect may be due to chlorella’s branched-chain amino acid content which have been found to improve aerobic performance.
Chlorella cleans our body fluids, our soft tissue and our organs (bowels, liver, kidney, lungs). This cleansing is an essential stage for a healthy body. In a few months, a regular consumption of Chlorella of 3 to 20g per day significantly reduces the heavy metals in our body. It is one of the most effective ways to naturally eliminate heavy metals and other toxins otherwise difficult to get rid of in our body.
In addition to this strong detoxifying power, chlorella can improve your energy levels, your immunity and assist with keeping your blood pressure in check.
